Band Pimping: Last Shadow Puppets (Originally published September 26, 2009)

As I’ve previously stated, I love Arctic Monkeys, so it should not come as a surprise that I also love the Last Shadow Puppets, frontman Alex Turner’s side project with The Rascals’ Miles Kane.  I was doing a bit of surfing and I came upon this video of them covering Leonard Cohen’s “Memories.”  It’s a classic “doo wop number,” as Kane introduces it.  Everything they do has a similar orchestral pop sound to it that I can’t resist, so if you like it, check out their first (of hopefully many) album, “The Age of the Understatement.”
